Ive had a variety of issues on my Wagoneer, but the funniest is probably the seat heaters shutting off. I brought it in immediately after purchasing when I noticed the front seat heaters were turning off after 5-10 minutes. It didnt always happen, but it happened a lot. When they turned off, they wouldnt turn back on immediately. They had to cool off, and then you could start them up. There was a wiring issue the dealer found and fixed. A week or two later, I noticed it again. Unfortunately my car broke down before I could get it in again. In dealing with the larger breakdown issue, Wagoneer Customer Satisfaction reached out to discuss the seat heaters. They mentioned it was a known issue that should have a fix coming in January, but to "just run them at medium heat or low and it wont happen." Obviously I was pretty upset to hear this, given how much the vehicle cost and the fact that it is winter. I asked if someone bought an Escalade if they thought Cadillac would tell them to run the seat heaters on low. They didnt find that funny. Getting it back from the dealer for the third time on this one, this time with advanced support from Jeep. Well see how it goes.
Same issues here, had it in to fix and still does it, and now it is December 2022, that's just one issue, there are so many for this vehicle it is not funny

My parents Wagoneer 2 has the seat heater issue. Shuts off. Tried putting on low and med and still shuts off. Had power steering quit the other day. Shut it off at dealer after shutting it off three times on the road and then power steering started working again and the seat.

I'm seeing this heated seat issue on my WSI too. Never had a problem the first few months I had it, but now that it might actually be cold outside the heated driver seat often turns off. Tried the lower heat settings and it seemingly makes no difference.

Does anyone know if there's been a fix for this?

I too have WS1 and both my wife and I turned on the seat heaters but we live in AZ and out butts got too hot really quickly so we turned it down to level 1 and we didn't notice it getting shut off. The car is still very new so we will see how it goes. we care about seat ventilation more than heating due to the weather and I hope we don't have issues with that.

There is aTSB/RUS 22-026 on the seat heater sensor module, this is a software update. If that doesn't work it is possibly a bad element that is being tripped by safety circuitry (to prevent overheating) they issued a TSB/RSU on this as well 23-006-22 which calls for replacement of the seat foam, seat back, and heating element. (subject to parts availability)

Just had our updates accomplished, waiting on replacement seat element for the driver seat.

Will report back if that fixed it-should be about a week.

Appears that the software update fixes most, my passenger seat started acting up after the update. My sever is there is a sensor in the seat that shuts off if it can’t detect weight. Like DillonJm dealer us replacing the heating element in the seat back snd bottom. Apparently this is a complicated task (took 3 days), picking it up in AM.

Has anyone had full resolution of the issue yet? Ive been at this for over a year with my Wagoneer Series II. Getting really frustrating at this point, and the dealer I’ve been working with has basically become unresponsive. Trying another dealer this week but I’m afraid I’ll be starting from square one. At this point, I don’t understand why they don’t completely replace the seats with new ones. Over a year to fix this issue is completely unreasonable. If the newer models arnt having the issue, give us new seats. This is insane. Also, sort of on the same topic, does anyone else feel tge ventilated seats are garbage? I tried using them all summer and noticed the cooling maybe 2-3 times. Most of the time it’s just unwanted noise. Does anyone know if this is related to the heated seat issue? The dealer wasn’t exactly reassuring about that issue.

Got it back. Saw pictures of inside of seat - very complex to say the least.

Zero idea if it’s perfectly fixed or not until a road trip this weekend.

I have had a lot of high end cars and the seats are better then most (at least they aren’t to hard or cut for weird body sizes.

I’d be less annoyed if the free loaner cars actually existed.. but Lincoln has the same problem, they advertise something and the dealerships don’t or won’t deliver because the program is badly designed.

Well, I dropped off my Wagoneer this morning at the new dealer. Hopefully they can resolve this for me. On a positive note, my loaner was a new Wagoneer Series II. First time that’s happen in the dozen times I’ve brought it for service. Hopefully it’s a good omen.

Fingers crossed!

Any resolution on this @rdljr1?
So far so good! They had it for almost 2 weeks waiting on parts, but the heated seats seem to be working perfectly now. I don’t want to jinx it though. In the back of my mind I’m expecting them to start failing again at some point. I guess the real test will be if they hold up a whole season once when I start cranking them again next winter. But as of now they are fixed 👍🏻

Great to hear! And sounds like you may have found a better dealership.
Cautiously optimistic lol. They went out of their way to fix the problem, had the Wagoneer loaner for me the whole time it was being worked on, and were very communicative throughout the process. I was initially feeling good about the last dealership as well though, so hopefully this is a pans out better.

This is a software update. Had mine fixed before Christmas... My ass gets as hot as I want as long as I want... If only the massage could stay on continuously.

Not all are just software. Ours needed a new element. Still wouldn’t stay on the driver seat after the software update.

Glad you got yours fixed!

This issue requires a smart dealership shop foreman and a bunch of time. Zip you can do about it yourself, and the seat rear down is a major piece of work. It’s a) software in informant, b) software in seat module(s), c) seat element. Given how much work the seat is they won’t authorize it until A) and B) are tried. There are two TSB on this.

if ur out of warranty its not worth the $$ to fix it.
