Grand Wagoneer owner now with 15k miles.

Issues include:

Speaker "static" (upgraded sound system)

Apple Car Play not working 50% of the time

Bluetooth not working 50% of the time

Screen goes black

Rattling in the interior

Condensation in the tail lights

Plus other things throughout ownership.

We had a Navigator before this with no problems and my wife wanted another one. I talked her into the GW, big mistake. I have had at least 7 Dodge/Jeep products in the past 10-15 years and very little issues. This has been a nightmare. So many reasons that we regret our decision. This has pushed us away from the brand and our Rubicon and Ram leases are coming up, won't be going with another Dodge or Jeep. Shame of it is we like our dealer. What a disappointment for a $100K truck.
What year did you get?

2 days into a new purchase; you're scaring me, I didnt buy an $80000 vehicle only to be with problems and stress that I don't need. It was a dealer loaner (WS3) with 3000 miles, still classified as new.

So far the only problems (I have yet found) mirror adjust joystick sticks and cosmetic wear.

The auto braking is annoying trying to backup close to something, need to turn that off permanently. Do we need that? We’re probably all seasoned drivers. If not then something eventually is going to happen anyway. Occasionally I do back into something but I always leave a note.

Turn off the rear sensors if that makes u feel better. You do that with a button above the gear selector.
Insist that the dealership do all software updates, and you should be fine.

Has anyone had any issues with the main screen display going black, shutting off, red screen sweeping from left to right side and not working at all? Also buzzing in the speakers when this is on going? Now as of this morning my wife was on the way back from taking our kids to school and she said the drivers dash lit up with lights, "dingers" going off and 4X4 lights flashing and stabilitrak warning flashing, and locked up the emergency braking! After multiple restart attempts she was able to get it home and in the driveway the same thing happened. We contacted the dealership and we are getting it towed there to be checked out. The vehicle is only a few months old with about 3400 miles on it. Has anyone had this happen, any of these issues? The main display has done this multiple times but this new issues is extremely alarming activating the emergency brake system while driving is something that I, nor she, is comfortable with. Any help is very much appreciated.
Yes. Several times. The screen freezes, goes black and buzzes. This is just one of several electronical glitches. Not happy at all

There is a TSB and software update for this - just take it to your dealer. *make sure kids aren't laying stuff on the rear screen (or turn it off)

To turn off sensors look above gear shift knob.

Any updates on everyone's issues? I JUST finished my lemon law with Ford. I really like the GW, but I do not want do go thru that mess again.

I am a tech, and work on the wagoneers pretty regularly. I can tell you the electrical system is extremely complex, and many systems are intertwined and can therefore mask the root cause of various issues. Currently working on a 2023 Grand with 7k miles that won't crank or start. Found multiple modules that aren't communicating, and it is difficult to determine the root cause. The main reason is that many modules share multiple buses, and many have multiple power inputs, and therefore can hide that they are the root cause. I have spent many hours following TSBs, inspecting connectors, inspecting harnesses, etc. It's looking like a faulty headlight module might be the culprit. Point being, you need to make sure if you buy one, and need service, that your dealership has a competent electrical tech that can properly diagnose these. If they don't, find one that does!

And don’t buy a used one as - used buyers don’t have lemon law right, only original purchasers have the rights.

Hi! We’ve been experiencing the same issues. We’ve had the car 3 months. After 4 weeks car shut off while at a stop sign steering wheel locked up break locked up and lights on dash went crazy. Then while driving the dash would say, hands not on wheel, or key fob not detected and start beeping. The heated seats won’t stay on. It’s in the shop right now for over a week. They said both car batteries won’t stay charged, they ordered two new heated seat elements both are out. Said we had a ton of software updates as well. I’m freaking out ready to sell but don’t want to be upside down in the next vehicle
What did you find out ?

Yep. And for the last few days after visit #5, the ABS noted a system failure on the screen. Today, the rear wheels / brakes LOCKED UP on my husband while braking. We have a series III but not a 4x4.

We are still dealing with most of these after 5 visits:
  • blindspot sensor failures shutting down the collision avoidance system,
  • screens freezing, or just deciding to reboot going down the road,
  • driver and center navigation screen freezing up and sometimes failing to load all together,
  • phone not syncing,
  • memory not holding in seats,
  • satellite radio screen freezing (change the station, the stuff is all still the same on the screen),
  • and my personal scary favorite...driving down the highway over 65 mph and the vehicle shaking and vibrating the steering wheel and into the passenger and sometimes rear seat. We've done numerous balances, changed a rim and personally paid ~$1k for new tires. Just gets worse.
I have video and photos of the sensor and screen failures, and the response has been...we can't duplicate that so we can't fix it. We have filed Texas Lemon Law.
It's possible that you need an alignment on the vehicle - we had to on ours at literally about 3,000 miles...

We have a 2022 Wagoneer we purchased 16 months ago. Had loud buzzing, popping, electricsl noises happen, main screen goes all wonky then black. Hasnt happened in couple of months but now have a brand new issue we are having to deal with. Will post thar in my own thread so Chrysler knows about it.

can you tell me what to try as to why our ebrake keeps coming on while we're driving? It never did this before and tonight my husband was stuck blocking a busy road because it wouldn't let him drive

I have has this happen. Now my brakes lock up when reversing. Jeep told me the problem does not exist unless the dealership can recreate it. I have screen glitching constantly, the stereo system says loading tom tom, freezes, goes black, makes a screeching noise and won't do anything. Nothing but issues amd the dealership where we live doesn't want to look at it because they don't want to deal with intermittent issues. They are also locally owned. Jeep. One big nightmare and death trap.
