I started having the same issue with my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit, the display jumps from other apps (Music or home page) to the navigation and the TomTom map keeps resetting, it also does it when I use the navigation and most of the time I lose the route and I have to put the destination again.
This is very annoying, I tried a factory reset a few times and it didn't work, I took it to the dealership and they replaced the ground but still didn't fix it, they told me that I need a new whole set of the Radio device, They are ordering one for me but now I'm reading all the comments and common problems I'm not sure even the Radio replacement would fix the problem.

It seems there is an issue with the navigation server that causes this glitch, I hope they fix it soon.
It has to do with the last update that was released. The dealer did mine so they might be able to remove it

If connected services didn’t provide the TSBs (they didn’t even mention them, made me feel more like I was being fussy), I recommend tagging Wagoneer customer service on here. They’re the only ones who ever mentioned the TSBs to me. Those bulletins have been out for more than a year, at least one of them has. They lost all the issues I’ve been experiencing. I gave them to my service tech and hope it’s going to fix - at least they also validated that there’s awareness of these very real issue - cold comfort but some acknowledgment that I’m not just a needy customer.
What is the TBS? I just bought a new Wagoneer and my tom tom reboots every 5 minutes. Agree super annoying. Any recommendations. Brought it to the service Dept on day 3 of owning and they were no help.

Switch dealers.. need to update the informant and the map - or return the vehicle. This is the beginning of the fun not the end.

So, you have an Uber expensive car with a warranty and they are unable to repair the bad system.

My dealer told me already that this is happening and you connect or the dealer have no fix for it. Basically you have an Uber expensive car with a faulty you connect system. Knowing you connect they will not fix it since it cost them too much money as I've been through this before in a previous Jeep with the Uconnect glitch. Since I just traded my car up from my 22 Jeep my dealer told me they would hold my old car for me for a week and I believe I'm going to buy it back again. It's very aggravating

Not sure how switching dealers will help. Its a software glitch
IF you seriously want it fixed, Step 1) the informant has to be updated to the latest version, and Step 2) Maps have to be updated to the latest version. Impossible to do ourselves as the informant is not OTA updating.

"switching dealers" - is because obviously your dealer isn't reading the TSB or opening a Star Case or they would already know this.

Wagoneer Connected Services called and emailed me a process to perform, Reset radio, delete all personal info including profile. I performed this yesterday and so far no Tom Tom reloading issues. I guess the dealer could have done this, nonetheless I would have had to reprogram anyway. So far so good

Sadly the reboot will be back unless that forced a informant and map OTA.

My rebooting issues have lessened a lot since the dealer did a manual software update a few weeks ago. That was supposed to fix the issue with OTA updates not working.

It’s better than it was but still glitchy sometimes with a not frequent random TomTom restart while driving.

Oddly, the nav voice sometimes gets garbled or sounds like she has a bad stutter.

Here’s a question though: I saw in an earlier post that the maps should be updated to a 2023 version. Is that for the map update or for the map version. My map update says 7/2023 but the version still shows as 5/2021 - if that makes sense. Wondering if the dealer fully updated the map version (assume the map update from 2023 was OTA update to the maps?).

Anybody know? Thanks

Map update is the problem (21 vs 23, something is transmitting the wrong data via GuardianXM) and a manual process. It is a huge file that you pull down to a flash drive and install. The current TSB has the dealer do this as it does not always run, this is the OTA problem that causing the reboots, if you can get to the new map and the current informant your reboots will stop. (Let the dealer do it, that way if the informant doesn't cooperate it is not on you and you may get a free car wash - NOT)

You can go here and pull down the update https://stellantis.navshop.com/#/downloads

*If your informant is not updated - go to the dealer

Gotcha. So sounds like the dealer updated the overall system but didn’t apply the map update to v 2023. Appreciate the reply!

I am wondering if thisis my problem. What mine does is switch, seemingly at random, from CarPlay/Waze to Nav/TomTom, sometimes I get a download message, sometimes not. My area has bad cell service. I have rebooted my phone and Uconnect. I have tried to wifi updated the Uconnect But I do not think the update happened. Does this sound like the problem?

Hi all! I have a 2023 Grand Wagoneer and the Navigation keeps restarting. Same issue as our 2021 Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve. What is causing this? Software version is FCA-MY23.T25.50-PROD. It is getting really annoying on trips to say the least. It’s like no one knows exactly what is going on or has any remedy to fix these weird issues. Have tried factory resetting and that didn’t help. Tried just using Bluetooth instead of CarPlay. Issue persists. I know many people are having the same issues. What gives? Doesn’t make sense. I also have a 2019 RAM Limited. Doesn’t have any issues like this.
We’re having the same issue!!! Very shooting to have a brand new vehicle and things don’t work!! Come on Jeep, get it fixed now!!!! Iowa Jeep owner

I figured it out - don’t go through the settings menu to nav - you have to have the map on the screen :/
Have the same issue with Nav rebooting or randomly changing to other “apps” I’m in a brand new 2023 GC-L that we just took delivery yesterday but it has the same UConnect 5 / TomTom system.

We are also on the latest UConnect: FCA-MY23.T25.50-PROD but our maps are North America 2021.09.008.28. Latest version found in the Stellantis Nav site is 2023.06.

We took ours in to dealer and same results as others. No fix on offer, It’s on the latest software version but tech was unaware of the latest maps on the Stellantis site. I shared the link but have downloaded to my USB drive and will try the update tonight. It would be great to get same results as @Jeepers. I’m not even sure I have OTA available as I don’t see map updates in the “maps” screen like others have stated.

You have to have update maps. OTA doesn't work (maybe because the file is too big). Download maps to a flash drive (big flash drive) and install - its a 1.5 hrs. (serach this site for the link)

The dealer should do this for you and I think there may be a newer version of UConnect.. that said its horrific how nothing is not beta tested before release.

Agree on the testing bit. Luckily I had already downloaded the 5 map files (for North America) from the site earlier. I purchased a WD 1TB SSD (with the intention of using in my other car) but the Jeep didn’t like it for whatever reason. I just grabbed a normal 256GB flash stick, put it in with ignition off and it recognized there was a map update and began updating right away. I didn’t want to sit there in the heat of my garage so ended up driving to a spot and started the update there and running the engine during the update to keep cool.

It was maybe a little less than :30 minutes to update. Drove home in Nav mode for almost 20 minutes and no rebooting or glitches. As @Jeepers stated, I’m hopeful this has resolved the issue.

This was sent to me by Wagoneer Connect. It worked and has been 2 weeks with no issues.

Reporting back on this after several trips with Nav mode. It seems updating to the latest 2023 maps with the latest UConnect software - which we already had - has solved the TomTom Nav reboot/glitch issue.

Does anyone have a TSB about updating the map file/informant to the 2023 version? My setup has the map file dated 2021 but does not that a map update was received in July 2023, but I think I’m understanding that the underlying 2021 file also needs to be updated. Thanks
