Hi all! I have a 2023 Grand Wagoneer and the Navigation keeps restarting. Same issue as our 2021 Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve. What is causing this? Software version is FCA-MY23.T25.50-PROD.

It is getting really annoying on trips to say the least. It’s like no one knows exactly what is going on or has any remedy to fix these weird issues.

Have tried factory resetting and that didn’t help. Tried just using Bluetooth instead of CarPlay. Issue persists. I know many people are having the same issues. What gives? Doesn’t make sense. I also have a 2019 RAM Limited. Doesn’t have any issues like this.

Here's a good one. I have a 2023 Grand Wagoneer with the 6 minute reboot issue with the TomTom. I followed the link in this thread to download the maps by entering Jeep in the Make field, Grand Wagoneer in the Model field, but when I try to select Navi System, it gives me no options, therefore it won't activate the download. Anyone else experience this, and does anyone have a solution? I've been to my worthless dealer service department and of course they "couldn't duplicate problem". I'm about ready for legal action to make them buy the car back. I travel frequently and this is unacceptable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem with the dealer and had to call Wagoneer Client Services. They had me go to Settings, go to reset, and click on Clear Personal Data. Haven't had the problem in a week now, keeping my fingers crossed. I also discussed getting another vehicle if I continued to have a problem. They gave me 2 options either the Buy Back option or they can issue me a CDI number to trade the vehicle in and get a new vehicle at employee price.

Hi everyone, I just brought home a 2023 Series II and in the first couple trips this issue is the one thing that is already driving me crazy. Lots of comments here to comb thru so hard to see if there is an actual fix? I know I got a software update at the dealership, I had to wait a day to pick up because of it.

In my last post above, replying to LegalBrief, my 2023 Grand Wagoneer GPS had suddenly stopped resetting. This lasted about 2 weeks, then it started again. I tried doing what rgaines said to do (in a post above) last night - "I had the same problem with the dealer and had to call Wagoneer Client Services. They had me go to Settings, go to reset, and click on Clear Personal Data. Haven't had the problem in a week now, keeping my fingers crossed." So far today no resets, so I am also keeping my fingers crossed (again!).

Welcome to a love-hate relationship! Tom Tom Rebotting is three components.. Software Update from Dealer, Current maps (via flash drive due to size), clearing data if it gets corrupted .

Jeep changed the data transmitted, the vehicle can't interpret without the most recent software and maps. (Typical failure to beta test before releasing an update). OTA updates don't work because the files a giant. OTA may restart once everything is updated as in theory the updates maybe smaller.

We also have a 2023 Grand Waggoner and dealership is at a lost. I’m really getting upset that at the price point we are dealing what with seems like an easy fix.

What is the latest software version so I know I'll have it when they do the update? Or so that I can check to see if I already have it? I just bought mine the other day and am experiencing the reboot issue. I have just downloaded the maps and am going to install those tomorrow. But I haven't made a dealer appt yet in case I already have latest version.

I successfully updated the TomTom maps on my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. USB stick formatted to NTFS. Downloaded and copied the 8 items in the folder to the stick. Turned on the Jeep, opened the Nav app. Opened Settings. When I initially opened the Other folder, I did not see any way to load the new maps, but as soon as I inserted the USB stick, a dialog box opened asking if I wanted to install the new maps. Clicked OK, and the total install took about 30 minutes. No more TomTom reboots.

I just picked up my 2023 Wagoneer III and immediately hit the maps /TomTom rebooting, switching screens, etc..

Downloaded the update (16.7) gig .zip file and unzipped to an NTSF thumb drive. The zip contained 8 files.
Started the wagoneer and brought up the maps in the infotainment center, then inserted the USB. A dialog came up and recognized a new update. Took about 20 minutes to update. All seems to work well now...

If you had this problem on delivery, you should have taken it to the service department, it’s a warranty item and documentation is key to maximize your Song Magnussen rights. Every single thing needs to be handled by the dealer till the warranty is up.

True... however a data update would not really fall into the category of product defect but would reflect more on the competence of the dealer to adequately prepare a vehicle for delivery, as this update was available before the vehicle was released.

However, I am crossing my fingers akin to the person falling off the 42 floor as they pass the 12th floor ..."so far so good..." :)

I agree I have a 2023 Wagoneer. This keeps happening. I also have 2023 Ram and this doesn't happen in it.

I just updated my two Grand Wagoneers 2023s. The one GW kept rebooting the Nav saying something like "Tom Tom map updating" and would end Navigation or music. I used the Stelantis website to find the maps for the UConnect 5 here: Stellantis | Home (navshop.com)

It is 16.7 GB today. You first download it to your PC. It was 8 files. It took 50 minutes. I then copied all 8 files and drug them to copy into my large USB storage device that I first formatted for NTFS.
Formatting to NTFS is also required for backing up games and captures on external storage devices connected to Windows PCs.
Important Back up or transfer any files on your flash drive before starting this procedure. The contents of the flash drive will be deleted during the reformat process.
  1. Plug the USB drive or external storage device into your Windows 10/11 PC.
  2. Open File Explorer.
  3. Right-click your USB drive or external storage device.
  4. From the pop-up menu, select Format.
  5. In the File system dropdown menu, select NTFS.
  6. Select Start to begin formatting.
This transfer did not take very long.

I started the Grand Wagoneer and chose Navigation and plugged the USB into the port under center screen (USB C or A) and it recognized the devices and guided me to upload new maps to replace old ones. It took 30 minutes. Keep car running and do no unplug USB until complete. This fixed the rebooting issue and replaced old version maps from 2/2022 in my GW that were made in June and July of 2023.

Drove Standard length Grand Wagoneer today and no more rebooting the Tom Tom trying to update every 6 minutes or so. Now has 10/2023 map. this is worth learning to do for all Uconnect/ TomTom owners.

My husband and bought a GW 23 nine months ago. It has been at the dealership shop 12 times over eight months for repeated dead battery, two power steering failures while driving, entire dash going black twice, unlocking door failure with fob in hand, and that doesn't include the four recalls, six updates.... and it has now been in the dealership 38 days over nine months. We documented everything and kept all service receipts, which we sent to both the dealership and Stelantis , as well as, a Lemon Lawyer to see if they thought we had a case, which they said we certainly did. We did not go that route , though we let the dealer know that we had. We were never contentious, but made the dealer aware of the toll it took on us emotionally, financially, etc.
Be persistant, make your case continually to dealer and corporate. Remember, it's not the dealer's fault. It's the manufacturers fault for releasing this vehicle before fully tested. None of us are alone.
Know you states Lemon Law backwards and forwards.
We are now being offered a buyback from Stelantis. It's worth the effort.
We are now getting a buyback
Within a month we have been offered a buyback by Fiat Chrysler

Snagged a 22 WG series 3 and ran into a problems with UConnect right off the bat. Connecting to Android Auto/Carplay was a battle, only to be followed by a new dance of disconnects every 10 minutes or so after an update. After a few rounds with the service team, they've decided to bring in the big guns and replace the radio. Shoutout to my service manager for being a champ! Here's hoping this move nails it. Countdown to installation day: 9 days. Stay tuned, and keep those fingers crossed for me.

Sorry you bought a used headache.

Oh, my gosh! It’s not the radio, these dealers don’t even read their own service procedures (TSB).

You need a software update to the radio, then a map update to 7/23.. so frigging simple

If you want back up search this forum, right down all the TSB info. March I yo the service manager and say “do this please”.

Sadly your now in the love hate relationship and it’s an expensive divorce given your limited rights with a used car.

Earlier, I shared that I was waiting for a full replacement of my radio unit after many rounds of software updates at the dealership and attempts to update the Tom Tom maps via USB. Here’s an update now: For the past 40 days, my infotainment system has been completely replaced, and I'm happy to report no issues with Android Auto disconnecting. The reason I'm confident is cuz before the replacement, navigation, android auto disconnects resets every 5 mins. My service advisor turned out to be a hidden gem. I want to stress that I tried every tip the forum recommended, but in the end, replacing the unit was the only solution that worked.

I purchased my 2023 JGW -S3. Mine is currently at dealer awaiting programmers update. This was a leftover 2023 “Rescue”. Same deal and I forgot to take a photo is software version before sending off to dealer. Last update was they were retesting a couple of modules but sounding like one or possibly more modules. I have had this before with other vehicles and turned out to be modules. I was initially thinking the screen itself, but now not so sure. Rebooting was getting annoying because it would reboot with NAV and an active route in progress. Ironically the reboot was on my way back to selling dealer for the wheel swap causing a couple of misssd turns. the build date of the problem vehicle was 3/31/23. The previous vehicle was 2023 Wagoneer S3 and didn’t have the issue. My suspicion is a “bad batch” but unsure of what production dates are affected. I was also informed that there is a thermostat recall. The new thermostat arrived yesterday and dealer is trying to work the thermostat recall while awaiting the UC programmers. besides that great vehicle and definitely has luxury and performance. I also suspect the transition from Garnin to Tom-Tom is a factor to a certain point. I had a two 2022+ JGC-L’s and this is second JW/JGW…..this is the first UC5 issue. No issues on my 22 Charger with UC-4 NAV…..(Garmin….just saying) UC-5 overall is a decent system. Even with this reboot issue still easier to use and the clarity of the screen is much better. Granted the screen size upgrade from 8.4 to 10 and 12” is also a factor. It is nice to be able to enter entire address as one entry instead of keep having to “drill down” into state, city, street, number etc…. I actually feel like I am slimming going back to the Charger….NAV mode wise.
