This is very unacceptable for any vehicle regardless of price. Things I have tried:
  • Factory Reset
  • No phone connected via Bluetooth
  • Disabled POI in Navigation Settings
  • Created different profiles

It’s something with GusrdisnXM. It’s sending something to the map causing it to reboot.

it’s in RAM, Jeep and other products - totally sucks because we don’t have updates to blame and it’s affecting all vehicles. (Maybe they were hacked, but regardless it’s super annoying)

Hi all! I have a 2023 Grand Wagoneer and the Navigation keeps restarting. Same issue as our 2021 Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve. What is causing this? Software version is FCA-MY23.T25.50-PROD. It is getting really annoying on trips to say the least. It’s like no one knows exactly what is going on or has any remedy to fix these weird issues. Have tried factory resetting and that didn’t help. Tried just using Bluetooth instead of CarPlay. Issue persists. I know many people are having the same issues. What gives? Doesn’t make sense. I also have a 2019 RAM Limited. Doesn’t have any issues like this.
I have a 2022 Grand Cherokee Summit and this just started happening. Map reboots about every 8 minutes.

We had a 21’ Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve that was purchased brand new that was weird from the beginning with the Uconnect. It did get better over time. Then one day the TomTom was just stuck always loading. Then sometimes it would work. But then it just started doing the whole reboot thing. We traded it in like that. Couldn’t believe the 23’ Grand Wagoneer was doing the same exact thing! It’s connected to WiFi in our garage as well. I did yesterday however start the trial on the hotspot. Today I also transferred our connected services subscription from the Cherokee to the Wagoneer since it just renewed a few months ago. Client services started a case where I can upload a video of the rebooting issue. Now if I could just pry the GW from my wife’s hands for a bit to get that vid. LOL 😂

I’m also following this thread on a different forum.

Maybe hope in sight! Looked at the Navigation settings in the “Map” section and all three maps including North America said Update and you could click on them and start the update process. At the top it said it would download the updates when the vehicle was powered off and connected to secure wifi. Will update this thread when I find out. This is exactly what the guy on 5thgenrams said that I linked to in an above post. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Mine started about 3 days on my 2022 Wagoneer series III, Doing the exact same thing, took to dealer today and they couldn't figure it out, talking about ordering a new radio for me. Also My wife's 2023 Grand Cherokee L also started doing it today. Not sure how much yet as we have not driven it but a few miles, tomorrow will tell when she arrives for work.

I just drove 4 hours to NYC, used google maps through carplay, but it still glitched every 5-10 mins and I had to constantly hit the touch screen to get back to carplay to see my directions. I still have the open ticket but nothing from them yet. I’m planning to call again when I get back.
I had my system software updated at the dealer last week and so far it has been fairly stable. Nav reset itself today briefly on a drive but that’s compared to 5 or 6 times within 30 minutes before the software update by the dealer.

I found out I was on basically the original system software and had never received an OTA update. Turns out, according to one of the technical service bulletins, not receiving OTA updates was one of the issues the dealer-installed update was supposed to solve.

Hoping it remains stable and that I’ll now receive future OTA updates. Time will tell.

In case helpful to others, the two TSBs I was given were 08-194-22 and 08-160-23. The latter was a USB manual update because it couldn’t get OTA. I know that may not be the same issue for everyone but hopefully it helps someone. Also for what it’s worth, my TomTom version says something like May 2021 which was bothering me until I noticed another line that said the map version was updated in July 2023. I also noticed on the system that it says map updates are biannual.

For me, the only thing that helped at all was going to the dealer. I like my dealership service department mostly because I’ve known the people working the desks for years. But the Wagoneer Certified setup hasn’t really lived up to expectations. For example, they first tried to send me to another dealer that had a 1.5 month waiting list. And the loaner I got was the tiniest cheapest Nissan Rogue that felt like I was in a toy. Luckily it was only one overnight but certainly wasn’t the “appropriate comparable vehicle” promised by Wagoneer Certified. I don’t blame the dealer who helped me - it was more than I got elsewhere. But if I had been stuck with it in the shop for multiple days/weeks, I wouldn’t have been too happy.

Long post, but maybe something useful in here for someone. Thanks

Oh, and Connected Services by phone never once mentioned TSBs or an OTA issue. That I got on here by DMing Wagoneer Customer Service.

I’m in the shop now. OTA hadn’t worked so it on the list. I’m convinced Guardisn is sending a bad character in the feed, why else would bith RAM and Jeep have this issue

The dealer did report a update for the AC - I hope it helps.

Sounds totally plausible. The second TSB I mentioned had a huge list of things on it from OTA issues to voice problems, black screens etc. They mention Ram and Grand Cherokee models.

Is anyone having this issue, that is not using the live traffic and paid for services with Uconnect? I’m wording if I cancel my navigation system subscription will the reboots stop happening. This has to be fixed, I’m getting so annoyed and it just started for me 3 days ago. Apparently this is a TomTom issue.

I have the same system software but your map update is more than a year older than the map release date I have: July 2023.
Our maps are updating right now. I bet those will be done in the morning. I think we are all starting to connect the dots. Thanks for posting all those TSBs! 🤞
