Thank you for posting this. Can you tell us how to check for that version? I understand update is coming later but will system tell us it updated and this is fixed?
thanks,
Jack
Hi fabrijack,

You can check your RSE touchscreen version with these steps:
  • Click on the GEAR icon on the bottom right of the screen
  • Click the SETTINGS option
  • Scroll to the DEVICES & SOFTWARE option
  • Click the ABOUT option
  • Click CHECK FOR UPDATES, and if the update is available, it will start automatically, and will reboot the system once the install is complete
Additionally, your Uconnect software should be at S24.18 or higher and your Rear Seat screens should be at 2793 or higher. The system may not show a notification once it us updated as it does for Uconnect over-the-air updates.

Are the rear seat entertainment screens visible from the the third row? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the issues are resolved for the 2023s by the time I take possession, but screen placement can't be fixed. Our teen will likely primarily sit in the third row and I am wondering if he will be able to watch family movies with the two kids in the second row (with middle of the second row bench seat folded down). Curious to hear if folks have had success playing the two screens together and over the car audio, as this is primarily how we would use it. Otherwise, I might cancel the RSE and just use an aftermarket iPad holder that sits between the driver and passenger seat connected to the car's Bluetooth (which is how we currently do things in our current SUV). Thanks!

Its pretty easy to see from the rear seat if you sit “crossways“ from the screen playing and not directly behind the passenger. Also I am about to post an update on my working after a trip to the service center.

I reserve the right to retract this BUT after an unrelated trip to the service center (Sway bar links failed and replaced) I noticed several line items on my invoice and my rear entertainment working correctly!

-RSU 22-150 22MY WS REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT SCREENS BLANK (RS U 4)
-RSU 22-201 22MY WLWSHDCCDTVF R1 HIGH RADIO VINS NOT LOCK (RS U 3)
-Software Flash for EPS (Flash Software 1)
-Software Flash for VRM (Flash Software 2)

When I got into the car the RSE was WORKING as designed and advertised! It’s been dozens of “update coming statements”, 1.5 years and 22k miles so you can understand my skepticism that this was ever coming. I’m still pissed that this has been such an exercise but very happy that I feel I can fully use my GW for the features I paid for.

Another side note - I’ve always had the complaint that the McIntosh sound system was “weak” and lacked volume. After These updates I can’t turn it all the way up anymore without it being uncomfortable and the subwoofers seem like they are being used where before it seems like they were not even in play.

In the event this stops working and it goes back to the old state I’ll be right back here lighting Jeep up but for now I’m overjoyed that this is working.

My system has been on this update since it went in for first service. Is there another "big update" coming?
we had been told there was a major update coming in February but my system is still on S24.18. My GW still has no picture of rear screens on center tablet and is still unable to "listen in " on any source whatsoever.
Do I need to schedule a visit to get this corrected?
Thank you!

I’d suggest a dealer visit to get software flashed. I had the following done and mine worked after 1.5 years of waiting. The flashes listed below are not user updates on the rear screens (android/FireTV updates) these have to be done at a dealer.

-RSU 22-150 22MY WS REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT SCREENS BLANK (RS U 4)
-RSU 22-201 22MY WLWSHDCCDTVF R1 HIGH RADIO VINS NOT LOCK (RS U 3)

-Software Flash for VRM (Flash Software 2)

Hi fabrijack,

This is an app-over-the-air update so the S4.18 level would be separate from the update for the Rear Seat screens. However, I can help escalate this to the Uconnect specialist team for further assistance via private message if you'd like additional support.

@Moosen Do you know if the aforementioned updates apply to the same setup in a Grand Cherokee? I am seeing the exact same issues on my 2023 with RSE as well as your McIntosh comment - not being "loud" enough - at volume 38 I should be uncomfortable with how loud it is.
