Go to an approved Wagoneer dealer. They will rectify this rapidly. If you take the back plastics off you can release this as well. But let them do it while you wait.
Go to an approved Wagoneer dealer. They will rectify this rapidly. If you take the back plastics off you can release this as well. But let them do it while you wait.I'm having the most obnoxious issue. I was at a wedding recently and someone in the wedding party threw their suit coat into the back of my car and when the liftgate closed, the arm of the suit coat was perfectly in the way of the latch and somehow sealed enough to close, but not enough for the car to think that it is closed. I have tried every possible thing. I have tried all the internal trunk open buttons as well as trying to open it from the back. I even got a 3mm screwdriver and put it in the release latch on the inside of the liftgate, but I am still unable to open it. I went to Autonation and they had a typical couldn't see me in three weeks response. They seemed to think there wasn't a quick fix, but they didn't even look at it and rushed me out. It's extremely obnoxious because without the button that allows lights to turn off while the doors are "open" I'd be screwed. My back lights are always on now because my car believes that the door is open and the incessant beeping and screen notification are so annoying... I wanted to come on here and see if anyone here had any ideas as this has to be the weirdest issue I've come across... Thanks for the help in advance!
They refused to take a look at it unless I had an appointment scheduled. Thankfully I messed with the latch more with the screw driver and I finally got it to pop open. It wasn't the easiest or most intuitive but thankfully I got the issue resolved without having to wait a few weeks...Go to an approved Wagoneer dealer. They will rectify this rapidly. It seems some dealers are better than others. Helfman River Oaks, TX is remodeling their entire showroom with one side being Wagoneer only. Totally different look etc. They refused to take a look at it unless I had an appointment scheduled. Thankfully I messed with the latch more with the screw driver and I finally got it to pop open. This just happened to us. How did you get it to manually open?I'm having the most obnoxious issue. I had this happen with a sheet. From inside look at lock assembly. The plastic cover around the upper part of the lock has a hole on the left that looks like a keyhole. Stick a screwdriver in it and move the metal slide to the right. This manually released the door. This happened to us this morning and would love to know what you did
