I bought my wife a Series III Wagoneer a month ago.
We’ve been watching the releases in the media leading up to the production for a couple years. She had a Grand Cherokee with Summit trim as her last Jeep prior to moving to the minivan life 4 years ago when we had our 3rd kiddo.
The Wagoneer has been great so far. It fits our family of 5 as well as our Grand Caravan did and is much more comfortable for the adults. We were initially looking at the Grand Cherokee L and test drove one of them and a Wagoneer at the same time. Wagoneer is by far more comfortable for me and spacious on the interior. It feels close to my 3/4 Ram for shoulder room and equal to it in comfort.
There are some software bugs I hope they work out in the Uconnect system, some minor CarPlay issues at times and some random resets with the Nav system. Additionally, we’ve had random weird issues with the profile settings. We set up one key for me, one for my wife. If I get into the Jeep after my wife has driven it, it’ll half change to my settings but not nail the seat setting. Sometimes the reverse. This one is probably me, but I kinda doubt it.
Other than that it’s been great. Just drove from Phoenix to Omaha a couple days ago to see family and it drove great for the 20 hour drive. I’m not sure yet if I’m a fan of the active lane management yet…it sometimes gives opposite feedback from what I tried to do with the steering wheel, seems to work ok with straight highways, has minor differences of opinion with me on curved mountain highways.
Fuel mileage is a little below my 3/4 ton Ram with a Cummins, but not bad for a loaded down SUV. (17.6 avg over the 1400 miles)
Overall, very happy with the purchase so far.
I laugh at all the comments on the Wagoneer. I expect to see many more on the road soon—we get comments daily on it around Phoenix.
