I put a deposit on a GW3 today on one “in transit” to the dealer. Was looking for a Bright White w/ Black roof with Palermo and Wood interior. Dealer said they had one that has a VIN and is complete just awaiting shipping to Tucson. Says it could be 30-60 days for delivery since they are experiencing delays due to lack of truck drivers to move the units from warehouses to rail.

Might have liked the towing package but probably won’t be hauling much anyway so not a deal breaker. Want the Mopar mats but they don’t seem to be available yet.

I’ve seen some of the problem posts and it makes me feel a bit uneasy but figure most of the satisfied owners are too busy driving theirs that posting on a forum how satisfied they are is not their top priority. Fingers crossed. Good to know all the things to check out before I drive it off the lot though.

Is there any online Owners Manual for the GW3 so I can bone up on things a bit before I get it?

I plan on tinting the windows, putting a clear bra kit on it, and maybe some rear mud flaps but other than that it should be good for some road trips.

A lot of the stories you read on here can scare you away but my GW has been nothing short of fantastic. I’m on a cross country trip in it right now. I met a group of friends in Lake Tahoe and everybody wants to ride in it. They all have comparable vehicles at home but all like stuff about my GW better. Turned 14,000 miles yesterday. Up until this trip my mpg has been as expected. Not impressive at 13-14 mixed 15-16 highway. BUT this trip coming out of Texas across New Mexico it did over 23 mpg on the calculator! Even in the hills and mountains it’s been at 18+ Which has blown me away.

We bought our Series 1 three weeks ago and just got back from a 1500 mile road trip. Overall it’s been a great car, although there are a couple of issues that I need to go back to the dealer to discuss. The cover for the volume button on the steering wheel is missing, the gas cover is broken (have to pry the door open), and the windshield has some distortion as others have noted here. I’ve also noted the stereo randomly shifts away from the driver. It seems like it is supposed to do that when using navigation for directions, but we’ve had it at other random times too. I haven’t done enough troubleshooting on it yet.

Individually those aren’t deal breakers, but combined it’s pretty pathetic quality control for what they’re charging. That said, the size is what sold us on the Wagoneer (in between most full size and extended SUVs). It handled the road trip well with plenty of space for the kids.
